A retired educator from Green County has been appointed to a state commission. Thursday, October 11th, Governor Matt Bevin appointed Jerry E. Cowherd of Greensburg to the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights. He will represent the 3rd Supreme Court District and serve a term expiring September 12th, 2021. The Kentucky Commission on Human Rights receives, investigates and rules upon complaints alleging violations of the Kentucky Civil Rights Act. The Commission also enforces the policies set forth in the U.S. Civil Rights Act, the U.S. Fair Housing Act, the U.S. Americans with Disabilities Act and other federal civil rights laws.
