Friday, September 14th, during its board meeting, the Kentucky Agricultural Finance Corp. (KAFC) approved $2,665,370 in agricultural loans for projects in the Commonwealth. Some area counties will get a share of the Beginning Farmer Loan Program portion of that money. Adair County recipients will receive a total of 250,000 dollars. Green County recipients will get a total of 146,500 dollars. Recipients in Hart County will receive 54,500 dollars. Metcalfe County recipients will receive 250,000 dollars. The Beginning Farmer Loan Program is designed to assist individuals with some farming experience who desire to develop, expand or buy into a farming operation. Beginning farmers may qualify for financing to purchase livestock, equipment or agriculture facilities; to secure permanent working capital; for the purchase of farm real estate; or to invest in a partnership or LLC.
