The Greensburg City Council met Monday, September 10th. The council passed the second and final reading of the city’s property tax ordinance for the current fiscal year which sets the rate at 21.7 cents per 100 dollars of assessed evaluation. That rate is the compensating rate which means there will be no increase in the amount of property tax revenue collected by the City of Greensburg this fiscal year as compared to last fiscal year. The Greensburg City Council also approved a resolution in support of pursuing and industrial revenue bond sponsorship to help fund some of the business aspects of the proposed Hardin Scientific industrial project in Greensburg. And, Greensburg Mayor Lisle Cheatham reported that the search is still on for a person to fill the position of Housing Authority Director in Greensburg. Mayor Cheatham said the position was offered to one person, however, that individual chose to stay in their current job.
