A Taylor County man has been arrested on drug and other charges. According to the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, 21 year old Monte Lamar Smith of Campbellsville has been arrested and charged with trafficking in heroin, trafficking in a controlled substance 3rd degree, giving a police officer false identifying information, tampering with physical evidence, possession of drug paraphenalia and promoting contraband 2nd degree. The arrest was made after a Taylor County Sheriff’s deputy responded around 6:45 P.M. Saturday, July 7th, to a report of a car stalled in the middle of the road on Greensburg Road in Campbellsville which also involved a domestic dispute. During the investigation into the situation it was found that Smith had an active warrant for his arrest. Also, over a ½ ounce of heroin was found along with multiple xanax pills and digital scales. Smith was lodged in the Taylor County Detention Center.
