One person has been arrested on murder and other charges and one person is dead as a result of a shooting incident in Russell County. According to Kentucky State Police, units from Post 15 in Columbia were called to a residence on Highway 92 in Russell County Friday, June 8th, shortly after 10 A.M. in reference to a custody dispute that resulted in gunshots. State Police say officers were informed that 38 year old David Johnson of Albany had fled the scene and had taken three juveniles against their will. State Police go on to say that less than an hour later Johnson was located in Albany by the Clinton County Sheriff’s office and was apprehended after a short pursuit. None of the children were injured during the course of this incident. Johnson has been charged with the murder of 28 year old Coty Lawhorn of Russell Springs and was arrested on numerous other charges as well. State Police also say that 29 year old Jessica Lawhorn of Russell Springs was flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained during this incident which remains under investigation.
