Friday, April 27th, the Adair County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of an unresponsive female at a location south of Columbia in Adair County and also found a moonshine still on the premises. The Adair County Sheriff’s Office says 46 year old Penny Smyth of Austin, Kentucky was found on the Kozy Cabins property in Adair County, transported to T.J. Health Hospital in Columbia and pronounced dead by an Adair County Deputy Coroner. Also located on the Kozy Cabins property in Adair County was an illegal moonshine still and several gallons of moonshine. The property owners have been identified as John and Peggy Haskieill. The Adair County Sheriff’s Office says the investigation is ongoing with charges pending.
