The Taylor County Extension Homemakers are sponsoring a shoe drive now through April 30th, 2018. Persons are being asked to clean out their closets of unwanted shoes so they can be donated to an organization called “WaterStep” who manufactures and provides products that make safe drinking water. “WaterStep” has an exporter that will buy the shoes then take them into developing countries where “WaterStep” does water purification projects and sell them to local vendors thus providing funding for “WaterStep” and small business owners in those developing countries. Collection boxes are located at the Taylor County Extension Office on South Columbia Avenue in Campbellsville during regular business hours. Shoes can be any size or type, new or slightly used, must be clean, with no mold or mildew. The collection goal for this shoe drive is 1,000 pair. For more information about “WaterStep” persons can go on the internet to waterstep.org. For more details about the Taylor County Extension Homemakers shoe drive persons can phone the Taylor County Extension Office in Campbellsville at 270-465-4511.
