A TAYLOR COUNTY MAN WAS ARRESTED ON SEVERAL CHARGES SUNDAY, JANUARY 21st. ACCORDING TO CAMPBELLSVILLE POLICE 44 YEAR OLD RICKY SPAW OF CAMPBELLSVILLE WAS ARRESTED ON CHARGES OF TRAFFICKING IN METHAMPHETAMINE, MANUFACTURING METHAMPHETAMINE, POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE, POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHENALIA, CRIMINAL MISCHIEF, ASSAULTING A POLICE OFFICER, RESISTING ARREST, FLEEING OR EVADING POLICE, BEING A PERISTENT FELONY OFFENDER AND OTHER CHARGES. HE WAS LODGED IN THE TAYLOR COUNTY JAIL.

 

A TAYLOR COUNTY WOMAN WAS ARRESTED ON A COUPLE OF CHARGES SUNDAY, JANUARY 21st. ACCORDING TO CAMPBELLSVILLE POLICE 46 YEAR OLD REBECCA WYATT OF CAMPBELLSVILLE WAS ARRESTED ON CHARGES OF BURGLARY IN THE THIRD DEGREE AND RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY. SHE WAS LODGED IN THE TAYLOR COUNTY JAIL.

 

A GREEN COUNTY WOMAN WAS ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES SATURDAY, JANUARY 20th. ACCORDING TO THE GREEN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE 32 YEAR OLD TINA GASKINS OF GREENSBURG WAS ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH TRAFFICKING IN A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE. SHE WAS LODGED IN THE TAYLOR COUNTY JAIL.

 

A GREEN COUNTY MAN WAS ARRESTED SUNDAY, JANUARY 21st, ON INDICTMENT WARRANTS FROM GREEN COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT. ACCORDING TO GREENSBURG POLICE 33 YEAR OLD JOSEPH R. REYNOLDS OF GREENSBURG WAS ARRESTED ON WARRANTS FOR RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY, FRAUDULENT USE OF A CREDIT CARD, CARRYING A CONCEALED DEADLY WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHENALIA AND OTHER CHARGES. HE WAS LODGED IN THE TAYLOR COUNTY JAIL. 

 

FRIDAY, JANUARY 19th, 2018

GREEN COUNTY FISCAL COURT MET IN REGULAR SESSION THURSDAY, JANUARY 18th. MAGISTRATES APPROVED PAYING THE GREEN COUNTY PARK BOARD 20,000 DOLLARS TO GO TOWARD FUNDING PARK BOARD ACTIVITIES AT AMERICAN LEGION PARK IN GREENSBURG IN 2018 AND APPROVED A CONTRACT FOR CUSTODIAL SERVICES AT THE JUDICIAL CENTER IN GREENSBURG IN 2018 IN THE AMOUNT OF 19,000 DOLLARS.

 

A FORMER MALE SUBSTITUTE TEACHER IN THE TAYLOR COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM HAS BEEN GIVEN A JAIL TERM IN CONNECTION WITH AN INVESTIGATION THAT RESULTED IN HIM BEING CHARGED WITH NUMEROUS SEX RELATED OFFENSES. FORTY SIX YEAR OLD LAWRENCE HARRIS WAS SENTENCED WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 17th, TO SIX YEARS IN PRISON. IT'S ALLEGED THAT HARRIS SENT MULTIPLE NUDE PICTURES OF HIMSELF TO TWO TEENAGERS AND THAT HE SOLICITED MULTIPLE EXPLICIT PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE TEENS BE SENT BACK TO HIM. IT'S ALSO ALLEGED THAT HARRIS HAD SEXUAL CONTACT WITH ONE OF THE TEENS AND ATTEMPTED SEXUAL CONTACT WITH THE OTHER. HARRIS WAS CHARGED WITH UNLAWFUL TRANSACTIONS WITH A MINOR 1st DEGREE, UNLAWFUL USE OF AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE TO INDUCE A MINOR AND PROMOTING A SEXUAL PERFORMANCE BY A MINOR. HARRIS WAS ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH THIS INVESTIGATION IN MARCH OF 2017.

 

A RUSSELL COUNTY WOMAN HAS BEEN HANDED A JAIL TERM IN CONNECTION WITH A TWO VEHICLE ACCIDENT THAT RESULTED IN THE DEATH OF HER THREE YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. JESSICA WARINER OF RUSSELL SPRINGS WAS SENTENCED THURSDAY, JANUARY 18th, TO TEN YEARS IN PRISON AFTER PLEADING GUILTY TO ASSAULT AND SECOND DEGREE MANSLAUGHTER. AUTHORITIES SAY WARINER WAS BEHIND THE WHEEL OF HER CAR ON SEPTEMBER 10th OF 2016 WITH HER THREE YEAR OLD CHILD INSIDE AND UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF METHAMPHETAMINES WHEN SHE WENT THROUGH AN INTERSECTION AND WAS T-BONED BY A PICKUP TRUCK. THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED AT THE INTERSECTION OF KENTUCKY 379 AND FRENCH VALLEY ROAD NEAR RUSSELL SPRINGS. WARINER WILL GET CREDIT FOR 492 DAYS ALREADY SERVED. SHE COULD BE ELIGIBLE FOR PAROLE AFTER SERVING 20 PERCENT OF THE TEN YEAR SENTENCE.

TUESDAY, JANUARY 16th, 2018

A CLINTON COUNTY MAN IS DEAD AS A RESULT OF A TWO VEHICLE ACCIDENT TUESDAY, JANUARY 16th, IN CLINTON COUNTY. ACCORDING TO KENTUCKY STATE POLICE THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED WHEN A 1999 FORD EXPLORER OPERATED BY 44 YEAR OLD JOSEPH COOP OF ALBANY COLLIDED WITH A 2018 NISSAN S-U-V DRIVEN BY 43 YEAR OLD CAREY MILLER OF RICKMAN, TENNESSEE. COOP WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT CLINTON COUNTY HOSPITAL. MILLER WAS TREATED AT CLINTON COUNTY HOSPITAL FOR NON-LIFE THREATENING INJURIES. STATE POLICE SAY THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED JUST AFTER 1 P.M. EASTERN TIME A MILE SOUTH OF ALBANY ON THE U.S. 127 BY-PASS WHEN COOP APPARENTLY FAILED TO YIELD THE RIGHT-OF-WAY.  

 

A TAYLOR COUNTY MAN WAS ARRESTED FRIDAY, JANUARY 12th, AFTER THE TAYLOR COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE RESPONDED TO A CALL OF A SUSPICIOUS PERSON AT AN AUTO REPAIR SHOP ON ELKHORN ROAD IN TAYLOR COUNTY. UPON ARRIVAL DEPUTIES FOUND 21 YEAR OLD JOHNATHON CHASE GILBERT INSIDE A VEHICLE PARKED ON THE LOT. SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS SAY GILBERT TOOK OFF RUNNING ON FOOT AND WAS APPREHENDED AFTER A SHORT PURSUIT. GILBERT WAS ARRESTED ON AN OUTSTANDING WARRANT AS WELL AS BEING CHARGED WITH UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A MOTOR VEHICLE, FLEEING OR EVADING POLICE, RESISTING ARREST AND ASSAULT 3rd DEGREE ON A POLICE OFFICER. HE WAS LODGED IN THE TAYLOR COUNTY JAIL.

 

KENTUCKY ENERGY AND ENVIROMENT SECRETARY CHARLES SNAVELY ANNOUNCED TUESDAY, JANUARY 16th, THAT APPROXIMATELY 1.5 MILLION DOLLARS IN GRANT FUNDING HAS BEEN AWARDED FOR CLEANUP OF 108 ILLEGAL DUMPS IN 20 COUNTIES ACROSS KENTUCKY. HART, LARUE AND METCALFE COUNTIES ARE AMONG THOSE THAT WILL SHARE IN THIS FUNDING. AS PART OF THE GRANT FUNDING, COUNTIES MUST AGREE TO PROVIDE A 25 PERCENT MATCH OF THE GRANT AMOUNT. FUNDING FOR THE ILLEGAL OPEN DUMP GRANT PROGRAM COMES FROM THE KENTUCKY PRIDE FUND WHICH IS GENERATED THROUGH A $1.75 ENVIROMENTAL REMEDIATION FEE FOR EACH TON OF GARBAGE DUMPED AT KENTUCKY MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE LANDFILLS. 

 

MONDAY, JANUARY 15th, 2018

CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY VICE PRESIDENT FOR ATHLETICS RUSTY HOLLINGSWORTH ANNOUNCED MONDAY, JANUARY 15th, THAT THE CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY ATHLETICS DEPARTMENT HAS RECEIVED BLUE PRINTS AND CONSTRUCTION APPROVAL ON A NEW FIELDHOUSE. CONSTRUCTION ON THE NEW CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY TIGER FIELDHOUSE IS SCHEDULED TO BEGIN WITH A GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 6th, AT 1:30 P.M. EASTERN TIME. THE PROJECT IS EXPECTED TO TAKE 10 MONTHS TO A YEAR TO COMPLETE RESULTING IN THE FIELDHOUSE OPENING IN THE SPRING OF 2019. THE NEW TWO-STORY FIELDHOUSE WILL BE LOCATED ON THE CORNER OF TIGER WAY AND CHANDLER STREET, ACROSS FROM THE HAWKINS ATHLETIC CENTER ON THE CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY CAMPUS. THE FIELDHOUSE WILL BE THE NEW HOME FOR MEN'S AND WOMEN'S SOCCER AND TIGER FOOTBALL. IT WILL FEATURE LOCKER ROOMS FOR ALL THREE SPORTS, COACHES' OFFICES, ADMINISTRATION OFFICES, A NEW AND IMPROVED HALL OF FAME ROOM, THE BIG MAROON CLUB, CONFERENCE ROOMS AND A NEW SPIRIT SHOP WITH OFFICIAL ATHLETICS APPAREL. THE YET TO BE NAMED 3.5 MILLION DOLLAR FACILITY IS BEING BUILT BY BLEVINS CONSTRUCTION OF CAMPBELLSVILLE.

 

A MARION COUNTY MAN IS FACING CHARGES AFTER ALLEGEDLY COMMITTING A ROBBERY AND ASSAULTING HIS EX-GIRLFRIEND. ACCORDING TO LOUISVILLE POLICE CHRISTOPHER HARRINGTON OF LEBANON HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH ROBBERY, WANTON ENDANGERMENT, ASSAULT, POSSESSION OF A FIREARM BY A CONVICTED FELON AND TERRORISTIC THREATENING. THE ARREST WAS MADE AFTER LOUISVILLE POLICE RESPONDED TO A CALL AT A BUSINESS ON DUNCAN STREET IN LOUISVILLE FRIDAY AFTERNOON, JANUARY 12th. IT'S BEING ALLEGED THAT HARRINGTON ATTACKED HIS EX-GIRLFRIEND AS SHE AND TWO OTHERS WERE LEAVING WORK AND BIT ANOTHER PERSON WHO TRIED TO INTERVENE.
